John's Visit

So it took a year of traveling, but my brother finally came out for a
visit with some help from Mom and Dad. He arrived last Saturday and
has already been able to do quite a bit. When he arrived I drove a
boat to the airport to pick him up (the airport is on its own island
10 min from town). We organized a welcome party for him at the bosses
house, and had fresh fish and salad from the market. I took him
grocery shopping in the open air market, where the dress code was
casual only wearing board shorts.

On Sunday he went out for two dives with us, then ate some nice
crayfish at fatboys my favorite restaurant and watering hole. After
lunch there was a volley ball game on Kennedy Island we took the boat
over and met up with a bunch of medical students that were in town and
spent the day on the beach. Tuesday John and I grabbed a local friend
Dougy and headed off to Lola Island with the owner of fatboys, and
spent the 2 hour boat trip fishing, drinking, and snorkeling. At Lola
we took John to a Custom site called Skull Island - a bit obvious why.

He is out diving now and enjoying himself, tomorrow we will head out
to Munda and do some dives with some friends over there, hopefully
squeezing in a dive through a cave that empties onto a reef! I hope
this makes everyone jealous and want to come for a visit, you are all
welcome to, just bring candy!
