Gizo, Another Week, Another Island

So I am now in the Island of Gizo. It is still wonderful. Each day
is busy but fun. It starts with breakfast of toast at about 7am, then
a 1.5 mile walk down the hillside to the water, where we hop in a dive
boat and do a dive. It is mostly wall drift dives.

We have done a few wrecks, 1 a 400 ft. Japanese transport sunk by US
Airman in WWII, that lies at about 120ft. It has tanks and lots of
cargo still. We have also been on US Hellcat fighter plane that was
awesome.

After our first dive, we head to an Island for lunch, it is usually
fish, which I eat now! Mainly because I have too, we usually have it
for lunch and dinner. Today we had lunch on the island JFK was
stranded on after PT 109 was run over/sunk.

After lunch we head in the water for another dive, and then a march up
the hill to our house. Everything is wonderful. Things I miss are
only fast food, I would love a hamburger! But I don't miss it too
much, when I look around at how beautiful it is, and how nice the
people are.

I haven't been on a computer much, mainly due to a strike at the only
communications company in the Solomons. I am headed to Nadi Fiji on
Tuesday. I have left my dive computer on US time and find it
entertaining that while I am diving you all are going to bed on the
previous day!

Munda, Solomon Islands

After 30 Hours of traveling, 5 airline flights, I have made it to the
Island of Munda. Only one place has the internet, and it consists of
a dirt runway, a bank, and about three or four general stores. Then a
small guest house and bar and dive shop where we are staying.

The water here is about 86 degrees. It is wonderful wall dives, that
usually are drift dives due to the current. Everydive we see sharks,
and the occassional Manta ray, eagle ray and sting rays. There are
many Neudebraches(Spelling?) As well as huge pieces of coral.

Everyday we go out and do a dive then eat lunch on a random Island
beach, then do one more dive before heading back. Everything is slow
paced, but does take a while to complete. The computers and internet
are bad here, I have been very busy teaching, but have a few pictures
to attach. I probally will not be able to update for another week or
so. It is so gorgeous I hate to be in front of a computer!

Time in Key Largo

Training in NC is now Over.   I am in Key Largo killing time until I leave for Fiji this weekend.  I have been doing some great diving down here and enjoying the weather as well as good friends and company.  I dove the USS Spiegel Grove yesterday that is one of the largest artificial reefs in the world.  It is an old landing craft transport ship that sits in about 130 ft of water about 5 miles off the coast of Key Largo.  The dive was fantastic one of my best dives on it.   There was no current and the water was so clear that you could see the wreck from the surface.

Since I have not been on the internet or watching tv, I just found out that tomatoes are infected.  If you know me all you probally know that I rarely eat fruits and vegetables.  This is a perfect example that NOT eating these deadly things is healthy!

Next post should be from Fiji

Visiting Theresa - NC

So I have been in NC the past week doing some training and visiting with Theresa. Her and Matt are well, and I also got to meet her new Kitten. Not much has been going on, but I will be going to Miami on Saturday. I have a week off and plan to spend it diving in the Keys.
